League Full: Waitlist Open League is Full –
Waitlist is Open Even though the last remnants of snow haven’t yet melted, this season’s AASL rosters are full and fully registered for the upcoming season. That means that no teams are looking for new players at this time (with very minor exceptions). Furthermore, we cannot accommodate any more new teams this season (as we are capped to a maximum of 14 teams in this league, due to field space). As the weather starts becoming more spring-like and warm up, more and more people are going to become interested in playing softball and will inquire how they can join the league. It’s simply too late. I get several calls a week from individuals (and people representing new teams) asking how to join, and if the league is full yet. Yes, we are full, and all rosters are full. However, if you are an individual and want to play, you should get yourself waitlisted. Here are the details: - Fill out a registration form - Bring it to the Acton Rec Dept (without any payment) - Ask to get “waitlisted” when you turn it in, and even write “waitlist me” on your registration form. - If you get placed due to last minute dropouts on existing rosters, you will be contacted (first-come-first-served) and will pay at that time. You should know that there are no guarantees a waitlisted registrant will get placed on a team, it all depends on the status of confirmed players on each team. It has happened before – teams that were full at registration time lost people before the season (or early enough in the season) to solicit additional interest from new players. It could happen again, and getting waitlisted is the only option we have. Individual waitlisted females will tend to have a better chance at getting placed on a team (if at all) due simply to the general shortage of women on some rosters. If you have any further questions about registration, please
