Special Olympics Volunteer Oppty You are invited to join in supporting Minute Man Arc’s new Special Olympics Softball teams!Minute Man Arc is a human services agency located in Concord, MA which works to enrich the lives of children and adults who have special needs. Our department operates several small-group programs which include Afterschool, Camp, and Recreation programs. Currently, we are recruiting Volunteers and Participants for our Special Olympics Softball teams (Children & Adults). JUNIORS UNIFIED SOFTBALL TEAM - - 6 children “Athletes” (ages 8 - 15yrs) who have been diagnosed as having a special need and would like to join the softball team. - 6 children “Partners” (ages 8 - 15yrs) who have not been diagnosed as having a special need and would like to join the softball team. - Volunteers (to help score, set up equipment, assist the softball coach during drills, cheer, and provide individualized instruction to support players) MASTERS TRADITIONAL SOFTBALL TEAM - - 10 adults (ages 22+yrs) who have been diagnosed as having a special need and would like to join the softball team - Volunteers (to help score, set up equipment, assist the softball coach during drills, cheer, and provide individualized instruction to support players) Practices will be held in Bedford, MA on Thursdays (4 – 5pm for children & 5:15 – 6:15pm for adults). The eight sessions will culminate in Special Olympic’s August Tournament held the weekend of August 8th - 10th in the Amherst area.
