Misfits take 4th place! Misfits captain Kendra George organized a team of AASL Misfits, Abby from Squeeze Play, Marlborough Independent Softball League (MISL) Hogs teammates of Dave George, and a few friends to enter the First Unitarian Universalist Church charity tournament in Leominster on Saturday, July 14, 2007. The team placed fourth out of 13 teams in the all-day tournament.
Dave George reports, "We had an awesome time! Our first game was at 9:30AM and unfortunately our last was at 4:30PM, 6 games in all. Out of 13 teams we finished 4th. The last 3 teams that made the trophy round were hardcore tourney teams. We later found out that those teams are all headed to the state finals...serious players! They tried to use us for batting practice. We did make it close in one of those games, losing 6-5." Misfits also brought a team to the 2006 charity tournament, placing third and winning a special award for sportsmanship!
