Acton Adult Softball League

On April 3, 2006 the Town of Acton voted to raise and appropriate from available funds, to be expended for the replacement of the Elm Street Lights and Poles. As you probably are aware, the current lights are 35 years old, and show visible signs of decay and are in danger of falling – they have deteriorated and have exceeded their useful life (see picture).

The project involves the removal of the eight wooden light poles and the replacement of them with 6-65 foot galvanized steel poles and new lights. The galvanized steel poles are much likes the ones at Veterans Field, 2A/27 (see picture). New lights will eliminate spill light migrating onto abutting properties.

The Acton Recreation Department has collaborated with the Acton Adult Softball League for fundraising efforts. So far, individuals who play in this league have contributed over $500 towards this effort. All donations are accepted by the Acton Board of Selectmen. The Town, Rec Dept, and league all thank you for these generous contributions.

FUNDAISER: Elm Street Poles/Light Replacement! – The poles and lighting at Elm Street are scheduled to be replaced in 2006/2007 assuming we are able to raise the necessary funds to offset the upgrade cost. Please consider helping the Town and the Acton Adult Softball League with a donation specifically for this initiative.
